The first Pop Collective Hybrid-RWA mint features the greatest basketball players of all time. Available with priority given to holders of the T206 pass, 50 cards will be released over a period of time utilizing player rookie cards complimented by art from 8th Project (https://x.com/8thproject1) and other Ordinals artists!
To our knowledge, we are the first to tokenize real world assets alongside art in a collectible setting.
The set particulars are best described by using our first, tester single-card mint of Allen Iverson. This was done through a presale on Magic Eden in early August. The limited edition card was available for mint by holders of the T206 pass.
We used his 1996-1997 Topps Chrome #171 Rookie Card.
Three 1996-1997 Topps Chrome cards were purchased, in conditions Near Mint-Mint (PSA 8), Mint (PSA 9), and Gem Mint (PSA 10).
Minters received one of 3 variations of our final card, distributed randomly.
1.) Base (45% of mint) - The base card, representing a fractional ownership of the Near Mint-Mint card.
2.) Silver (35% of mint) - The premium card, representing a fractional ownership of the Mint card.
3.) Gold (20% of mint) - The elite card, representing a fractional ownership of the Gem Mint card.
140 total cards were minted.
Cards #2-5 in the G.O.A.T. collection will be released as a pack. These will be done in the same Base, Silver, and Gold distribution as the Allen Iverson card, but packs will also include a 4th "insert" card, which may be one of the following:
1.) Limited edition CinePix available only through Series 1 packs.
2.) NBA team runes that can be bought/sold/traded and will be used in this upcoming season's contests.
3.) Bitcoin gift cards that can be redeemed for the price of the pack.
AND...
4.) True Real World Assets of current NBA star rookie cards that did not make our G.O.A.T. list. There will be 2-3 players possible in each series. These are Ordinals that represent 1:1 physical cards (there is no art, just the graded card) that can be traded, sold, or exchanged for the IRL version shipped to you! We are working to come up with solutions for people who would like the physical card but do not wish to dox an address. There will be 3 current star rookies in Series 1, with the first announced as Victor Wembanyama. These will eventually form a sort of "current star" subset to the G.O.A.T. release.
Future cards will be released on a regular schedule, dependent on art lead-time.
We will be using recursion, parent-child, voodoo, bribery and everything we can think of to get these to an extremely low price point of around $20 per card.
Pop Collective aims to be the ideal entry point for onboarding to Ordinals.
